The Alexander Technique is movement reeducation. It's a skill. In hands-on Alexander lessons, you learn to take the strain out of how you do things. Problems being continually fed by unnoticed, compounding, everyday tensions start to improve. It’s reliably good for back pain, stress, performance anxiety, and repetition-induced issues.
The Alexander Technique isn’t medicine, alternative medicine, therapy, or treatments. These are lessons. You’re learning to notice unneeded tightening you don’t realize you’re doing, and what to do about it. Tension is a behavior. It's something we all do, and it doesn't get better until we learn to stop.
If tension makes it worse, the Alexander Technique makes it better.
